Geelong City Highlights and Aboriginal Heritage Bus Tour

Blank

Get to know the history of Geelong...from the First Peoples to modern times

The tour bus leaves Deakin’s Waterfront Campus with experienced guide Colin Mockett pointing out Geelong’s highlights and heritage sites. After brief stops at the beautiful art-deco Eastern Beach and world-renowned Geelong Botanic Gardens, it travels to to Torquay, where we’ll visit the Analemmatic sundial, created and decorated by Aboriginal artists Glenn Romanis and Claire Gittings and has strong images explaining the region’s importance to the Wadawurrung, Gulidjan and Gadubanud nations who co-existed there. The bus returns via Geelong’s vibrant cultural centre, stopping at the Geelong Mural and the city’s new dome library, winner of the 2016 world architecture design award.
