Campaigns and Collectives

Concession Cards for all Students! Save the Whales!

Want the chance to meet like minded students for Networking? Socialising? Campaigning to get results on issues you care about?

What better way than to join one of DUSA’s many collectives and communities! We have collectives already running for: Mature Age students, Women, and Queer students, and issues and activity based groups for Environment, DUSA Radio, Post-Grad students and Social Justice.

What’s even better is that DUSA also helps members run campaigns on the issues that matter to them. So if you have a particular issue that you wish to focus on, please email Nina Springle and indicate which groups or issues that you're interested in and we will be in touch to invite you to get involved!

Campaigns on the go

We think that the campaigns we run are of great importance to Deakin students and DUSA Members. Come check out our dedicated site: DUSA Campaigns. On the site you can view our past and current initiatives, sign petitions and stay informed of the latest updates. Joining DUSA campaigns is a free service for all Deakin students and does not require DUSA membership.

Deakin University Trimester

Deakin Uni is always changing. Part of DUSA's job is to make sure members always get the best deal out of uni life, this includes getting the facts when circumstances vary.

Moving from a semester to a trimester model will mean some changes for the way students at Deakin study.

For example, there will no longer be a protected study break before exams and there will be no mid-semester break in semester 2.

That said, students can now study any time of the year using HECS, CSP and FEE-HELP programs that are available only in semester 1 and 2 now.

Get the facts about trimester study from DUSA, the only independent voice on campus.

International student focus groups

Deakin University Student Association (DUSA) is interested in finding out what YOU think! We want to know about your experiences at Deakin and how we can help to make them even better.

DUSA already has a number of groups running activities relevant to international students including sports clubs, faith based groups, cinema appreciation, creative writing, games and more. We want to know what else we can do for international students.

To find this out, DUSA will be running a series of focus groups aimed at collecting information and feedback from international students because we know your needs are sometimes different. Take part and receive a free MP3 player!

Drop in to reception at Building A, Deakin University Burwood Campus or call 9244 6356 to register interest and have your say about how DUSA can be more relevant to international students.
