The Deakin ALP Club is a group of progressive, engaged and active students looking to make a difference by getting involved in the political scene. Christian Union creates great fellowship and friendship for Deakin students, and provides opportunities for students to learn more about Jesus. Our weekly public meeting includes food, discussion and talks on the Bible (1pm each Wednesday during semester). Bible studies are held several times each week. The goal of the Deakin Environment Club is to provide a valued and useful forum for both environment students and general students alike, to discuss key local and global environmental issues. Members are encouraged to identify these issues and lobby to bring such concerns to the attention of the relevant body. The club aims to bring together students to write, produce and perform in student short films. The Deakin Snow Riders (DSR) is a club where people with a similar interest in skiing, snowboarding and alpine life can get together to share their passion for this high country environment. The Deakin Taekwondo Club is growing sporting club that consists of competition fighting and patterns, (with opposing universities and clubs), fitness and self defence in a friendly environment. The grading levels that are achieved within the university are also recognised in any other Taekwondo club anywhere in the world that follows the World Taekwondo Federation (WTF) rules. There are also opportunities to compete in events such as the Australian University Games.
