Electoral College Elections to elect the 2019 Student Council

are being held on Wednesday 3rd October 2018 at Deakin Learning Centre, 9 Bridge Street, Werribee  - All elected Student Representatives are to arrive by 11:00am

Coles Coaches buses will be provided to transport student representatives from each campus to arrive at Werribee by 11am to take part in the Electoral College Elections.  Buses will return student representatives back to each campus afterward (light lunch will be provided).

Warrnambool  -  Departure time 8am  (pls. arrive at least 10 mins. before to board the bus)
Pick-up location - Deakin University, Cafeteria Lane – near Building H

Waurn Ponds – Departure time 9:55am   (pls. arrive at least 10 mins. before to board the bus)
Pick-up location – Deakin University, Alfred Deakin Drive – turning circle near Building JB

Waterfront – Departure time 10:15am   (pls. arrive at least 10 mins. before to board the bus)
Pick-up location – Deakin University, Smythe St (opposite The Cube) near Cnr Little Smythe St

Burwood – Departure time 10:00am   (pls. arrive at least 10 mins. before to board the bus)
Pick-up location – Deakin University, loading bay next to Car Park 1 near Burwood Highway

The Deakin University Student Association (DUSA) 2018 Elections will be held from Monday 17 September 2018 to Friday 21 September 2018 for the following positions:

Burwood Campus Student Representatives
Twenty six (26) positions

Geelong Campus Student Representatives
Seventeen (17) positions

Warrnambool Campus Student Representatives
Ten (10) positions

Cloud Campus Student Representatives
Eighteen (18) positions

National Union of Students (NUS) Delegates
Seven (7) positions

International Officer  One (1) position                Queer Officer  One (1) position

Nominations and Voting

Only student members of DUSA are eligible to stand in this election.

Nominations will open at 9:00am Monday 27 August and close at 4:00pm Friday 31 August 2018.

Only student members of DUSA are eligible to nominate and vote for the Student Representatives for the campus for which they are enrolled.

Only student members of DUSA who identify as Queer and are registered to vote in the Queer ballot can vote for the Queer Officer (see further details below).

Only student members of DUSA who are International Students as defined by the University Records are able to nominate and/or vote in the International Student Ballot.

All students may vote in the election of NUS delegates.

Nomination Forms are available at any DUSA office, on the Elections page of the DUSA website (www.dusa.org.au) or by contacting the Returning Officer (where access to the internet is not available).

Cloud Campus students do not need a seconder for their nomination.

Nominations can be scanned and emailed direct to the Returning Officer – dusaRO@abovequota.com.au  or lodged at your nearest DUSA office.

Warrnambool Students: Please scan and send all forms direct to the Returning Officer – dusaRO@abovequota.com.au

Postal votes are available for those unable to attend the election in person. Postal Vote Application Forms are available from the Returning Officer or on the DUSA website (www.dusa.org.au).

Completed Postal Vote Application Forms must be received by the Returning Officer no later than 4:00pm Friday, 31st August 2018.

Cloud Campus polling will be electronic and will run from 10:00am Monday 17 September to 4:00pm Friday 21 September


The DUSA roll will close at 12pm (noon) on Wednesday, 15 August, 2018.  Any student who becomes a member of DUSA after 12noon on Wednesday 15 August 2018 will not be eligible to vote.

Queer Ballot

Elections for the position of Queer Officer are conducted electronically, and a role of registered voters will be kept specifically for this position. Please visit the following link to register to vote or run as a candidate.

Ticket Re-Registrations and Registrations

All tickets previously registered at last year’s annual election may be re-registered commencing 9am on Monday 20 August 2018, until 4pm on Tuesday 21 August 2018.

New tickets may be registered from 9am on Wednesday 22 August 2018, until 4pm on Friday 24 August 2018.
