Australian University Games


The Australian University Games (AUG) is the largest annual multi-sport event held in Australia, involving over 8,000 participants from 42 universities. The AUG is the perfect mix of competitive sport and social activities, and is often described by students as the pinnacle of university life.

The Deakin Dragon Payment covers six (6) nights accommodation, two (2) team dinners, social uniform kit, playing uniform kit, and other miscellaneous items such as Deakin Insurance.

Recruitment Process

Selection for Uni Games events is based on ability in order to ensure the strongest possible team is selected to represent Deakin University. For additional information, just click on the following links:

Sport Grade Classifications

Trials for all sports are conducted in Trimester 1 and practice squads are selected. Trials will commence in the week starting Monday 20th March. Additional trials may be scheduled by team managers prior to AUG's.

Students who were unable to attend trials have the opportunity to attend scheduled training sessions throughout the year in an attempt to make the practice squad. Please contact team managers to find out trial information.


  • Students must be currently enrolled in Trimester 2 at Deakin University.
  • Students must participate in team selection trials or attend a subsequent training session to try out for the team.
  • Students must attend team training sessions prior to the event.
  • Students must adhere to the Deakin Dragons Participation Agreement and Code of Conduct for AUG 2017.
