Deakin University English Language Society

Whether you're in your final year of study or just getting started, we're running this event to provide students with the skills they need and opportunities to network to get their careers started.

Here's how the night will work:

Resume & Cover Letter Writing Workshop

We're running presentations with tips and tricks you may not have heard before, examples of stand-out resumes, templates for attendees, and an open discussion about job-searching successes and failures from a student's perspective.

7pm onward
Guest Speakers

Networking is so important when it comes to kickstarting your career, so we've invited some guests to speak about their careers and how they got there.

Here are their details if you wanted to read up on them beforehand and prepare some questions about their journeys!

  1. Kate Hazel Hall
    Fiction Author & Lecturer
    'From Darkness'
  2. Rachel Cassidy
    Non-Fiction Author
    'Stalked: The Human Target'
  3. Felicity van Rysbergen
    Well Versed Melbourne

If you're only interested in the workshop or the guest speakers, feel free to come and go throughout the Zoom session 🙂

Join us online via Zoom, Monday 9/8.

👩‍💼 A career in writing and the arts is possible, and after the DUELS Career Night, you'll know how to get there too!
