Democracy is at the core of the Australian political system. In essence people vote for representative candidates or parties to carry out the business of governing on their behalf. The parties are formed around sets of values which guide their implementation of policy, law and economics. These party values are founded on different ethical and philosophical ideals.
As we move into the future, the shifting political landscape demands the questioning of traditional political values. Should voting be mandatory? How much control should government have? What set of ethics should we prioritise politically? We will be discussing these topics and more with local political thinkers and representatives.
