Unisport Australia are introducing the Victorian International Student Sport Festival in 2024.
The event aims to bring together international students from across Victoria and provide them with the opportunity to represent their university, playing badminton, basketball, futsal, table tennis or volleyball.
In addition to the sport, the event provides an opportunity to celebrate and showcase the diversity of all international students, to promote inclusion and acceptance, foster a sense of belonging, help bridge cultural barriers and enhance intercultural understanding.
Date: Wed 3rd July & Thur 4th July 2024
Location: Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre - 30 Aughtie Drive, Albert Park, VIC
Cost: $30 per student.

1. Login or create a fusesport account.

1. What is the nature of this event?
Whilst you are representing Deakin in sport, this event is quite social in nature. Please be respectful of others, don’t take the competition too seriously, and most importantly, have fun!

For Mixed Competitions:
Where a team has only three players on the court, a maximum of two males are permitted on the court at any one time.
Should any team be unable to field a mixed line-up per the parameters above at any point throughout the game, the game will result in a forfeit.
Futsal Team Size

Each team must rotate clockwise after winning back the serve. Teams can only substitute from the front right corner position after they win the serve. The new player coming onto the court becomes the server.
3. How do I create my own team?
If you are the captain, or team manager, you will be able to select ‘Create a new Team’ in the Registration Details portion of the registration.
Once you select this option, you can create a team code, that is 4 to 10 characters long, that you can then share with your teammates to allow them to register with your team.
Upon completion of the registration, you, your team’s name and team code will be registered for the VISSF.
4. How do I join my friend’s team?
Make sure you obtain your team code from your team captain / manager as you will need it when registering to make sure you are allocated into the right team.
Click on ‘Join an existing Team’, search for your team’s code and select the correct team that appears.
5. Can I play as a Deakin College student?
YES! Anyone who is working towards a certificate or higher award offered by the member university or by a recognised feeder school* of the university can participate.
6. Can someone play if they are not a Deakin Student?
NO, they can not. Everyone must be a currently enrolled student.
7. Can a local (domestic) student play in my team?
Yes, they can. Please refer to the team sizes for the maximum number of domestic registered players you can have on your team.
8. Do I need a uniform to play?
Deakin University staff will be at the event to assist with the distribution of temporary uniform. It is expected that you hand this uniform back at the end of the day.
Please come wearing appropriate footwear and attire for sport.
We also recommended that you come wearing the same-coloured apparel as your teammates (e.g. Black T-Shirts).
9. Do I need my own equipment?
Unisport Australia will only be providing game balls/shuttlecocks to students on the day.
It would be ideal for participants to supply their own warm up equipment, badminton racquets and table tennis bats.
10. Transport.
Students will have to make their own way to the event venue.
There are two convenient tram routes which drop you right at the front door of MSAC.
If you are planning to drive, Parking for MSAC Stadiums is available all day in the Stadiums Carpark, at the southern end of MSAC. This parking space is accessed from Aughtie Drive. Contactless payment is strongly encouraged upon exit.
