2. PURCHASING OF MEMBERSHIP

It is a constitutional requirement of all Memberships that they are purchased by the Member themselves and not a third party. When purchasing a membership, ensure that the 'Members Name' matches the name of the credit card or is a close match.

Our membership system flags transactions that are purchased in multiple lots with the same credit card as a means to prevent 'stacking' of a club membership roll.

Should you require assistance with the purchase or need to seek clarity on this please contact DUSA.

Memberships that have been flagged within our system as being purchased in a 'batch' will be voided if found to be purchased on behalf of Member by a third party. Frequent attempts to purchase multiple memberships on behalf of another student(s) will result in a disciplinary hearing by the club, should the third party hold a valid membership. Breaches of this nature may also be referred to Student Conduct at Deakin.

3. ELIGIBILITY TO VOTE/NOMINATE

Only current students of Deakin University that hold a current club membership for the nominated club are eligible to vote at an SGM / AGM and/or nominate for an Executive/Committee position within the club. You may be requested to provide evidence of enrolment to verify this status at either an SGM / AGM. Associate Members are not eligible to vote due to their constitutional status.

4. BEHAVIOUR WITHIN DUSA CLUB ACTIVITIES

DUSA reserves the right to cancel a club membership if a member does not behave in a responsible manner or there is a breach to the Deakin Student Code of Conduct or club guidelines.

5. AGE REQUIREMENT

All persons must be 17 years or older to join as a member. If the Club member is under the age of 18, a parent or guardian is required to sign the membership agreement on behalf of the member. Some facilities, services and Club activities are not available to minors.
