Family violence can take the form of controlling or coercive behaviour, physical, emotional, financial, spiritual, or social harm. Are you currently feeling unsafe and at risk of family or domestic violence?

If you need urgent support know that there are a number of services that can assist you to determine your options, next steps and to ensure your safety.

Safe Steps

Safe Steps family Violence Crisis Response Centre provides twenty-four-hour crisis support for people experiencing or afraid of family or domestic violence in Victoria. Contact them on toll free number 1800 015 188 or email at safesteps@safesteps.org.au

In Touch Multicultural Centre Against Family Violence

In Touch Multicultural Centre Against Family Violence – provides state-wide specialist family violence services for women from migrant and refugee backgrounds in Victoria. Contact them on toll free number 1800 755 988 to talk to an intake worker or complete the self-referral form.

Sexual Assault Crisis Line

The Sexual Assault Crisis Line Victoria is a state-wide, after-hours, confidential, telephone crisis counselling service for people who have experienced both past and recent sexual assault. It operates between 5pm weeknights through to 9am the next day and throughout weekends and public holidays. To contact, please call toll free number 1800 806 292.

LGBTIQ+ Services

With Respect

With Respect – provides specialist family violence services for LGBTIQ+ community. The service operates on Monday, Thursday and Friday between 9am and 5pm and Tuesday and Wednesday between 9am and 8pm. After hours support is available on Wednesday from 5pm to 11pm, Saturday and Sunday from 3pm to 10pm. To contact, please call toll free number 1800 542 847.

Thorne Harbour Health

Thorne Harbour Health – provides Family violence support services, case management, counselling and flexible support packages to LGBTIQ+ community. The service operates from Monday to Thursday 9am – 6pm, and Friday 9am to 5pm. To contact, please call toll free number1800 134 840.

First Nations' Services

Djirra is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation and they provide culturally safe and accessible support to Aboriginal people who are currently experiencing family violence or have in the past. To contact, please call toll free number 1800 105 303.

Burwood Services

The Orange Door in Inner Eastern Melbourne provides family violence services to women, children and young people, Aboriginal services and Men's family violence services. They are open from Monday to Friday 9.00 am to 5.00 pm. For assistance, please call on toll free number 1800 354 322 or email at IEMA@orangedoor.vic.gov.au

Geelong Services

The Orange Door in Barwon provides family violence services to women, children and young people, Aboriginal services and Men's family violence services.
