If you have received notification from your Faculty Graduate Research Director that the University is proposing to transfer you from doctoral to master’s candidature, please contact the DUSA Student Advocacy and Support Service for free, confidential advice and support around this process.
If you have received a proposal to transfer you from doctoral to master’s candidature and you would like support, we’re here to help.
A proposal to transfer from doctoral to master’s candidature is a recommendation made by the Progress Review Panel where your progress is deemed unsatisfactory after your second attempt at your progress review milestone.
You can accept the proposed transfer decision or not accept the proposed decision and have the outcome reviewed by the Graduate Research Academic Progress Committee.
What should I do if I receive a proposal to transfer from doctoral to master’s candidature?
i. Misapplication of process occurred that resulted in material disadvantage to the candidate, and or
ii. New evidence that was now known or available at the time of the original decision is now available and could have affected the outcome of the decision.
