For our T2 2021 Academic Integrity Campaign, the Student Advocacy and Support Service developed some videos for social media to help students increase their awareness about academic integrity. What was required was for students to record themselves answering a series of questions in short (30 second-1 minute) videos. The answers we received were compiled into videos which we have posted below for awareness and education purposes.

We asked questions involving situations students may experiencing during their studies, such as websites that ask you to share work online to gain access to notes and other assessments, supporting friends who are stressed with their assessment without sharing your own work and the importance of students completing and protecting their own work. Students were rewarded for their participation with various gift cards.

The questions we asked were…

1. You are looking for sources online. You find a preview of an old assignment for your same assessment...however you have to upload one of your previous assignments to access it. What do you decide to do and why?
2. Your friend calls you; they are super stressed and don’t know how to write their assessment. They ask for a copy of your assignment, what do you do and why?
3. Why is it important that students complete and protect their own work?
