T1 Self Care Week 2025 recap

DUSA’s Self Care Week is a chance for students to take time out and prioritise their physical and emotional wellbeing. From 5 – 9 May we held events across all four campuses and online offering a mix of music, food, games, giveaways, connections and community.

The weather was perfect for our Beats & Eats events at Burwood, Waurn Ponds and Waterfront campuses. Free Subway Subs and Fanta were on offer at Burwood and CHEER Toasties were available at our Geelong campuses – all were a huge hit! Aside from the yummy food there were live performances, DJs, club and partner activations, games, activities, and a very welcome return of the Delta Therapy Dogs who offered plenty of love and cuddles.

Also at Burwood, we held our Hot Sip Social events where students could come along and grab a hot drink, chat with other students, and get involved in some chilled art activations and games.

Over a Warrnambool ‘Trivia’ was the name of the game with a great turnout on Wednesday full of challenging questions, team building and some ‘inspiring’ karaoke efforts!

Online, we had a range of activities for students who couldn’t make it onto campus. On Monday night, we held our Where in the World with DUSA event where students played GeoGuesser and won some prizes. Our Chocolate Meditation Session was a fun take on mindfulness, and our Mature Age Mixer was a great opportunity for mature aged students to make connections with students at a similar stage in their tertiary studies.

Uni life can get hectic and Self Care Week is a chance to take a pause and focusing on what really matters – YOU. A huge thanks to our student volunteers, clubs, partners and everyone who helped to bring DUSA’s Self Care Week to life. We look forward to doing it again in T2!
