What a fantastic two weeks it’s been! With over 50 on-campus events, nighttime parties, sporting sessions and online gatherings, T1 OFest has been a chance to welcome our newest students and get the academic year off to a flying start!

Our on-campus events included Market Days at all campuses, Beats & Eats at Burwood and Geelong, and a Welcome Lunch for Warrnambool students. These events were a great chance to meet new people, learn about DUSA Clubs, and enjoy free food, live music and plenty of partner giveaways! For the first time at T1 OFest, we introduced a Low Sensory Market Day to provide all the fun and freebies of Market Day but in a calmer, less hectic environment.

At night, the celebrations went off with the crazy ‘fits and fun of our Thrift Party, Beach Party and Mystery Bus Tours; the retro vibes of Arcade Games, Bowling, Roller Skating and Luna Park; the chill vibes of Lawn Bowls; and celebrating our fantastic multicultural community at DUSA Celebrations. You only need to look at the hundreds of pics on our Facebook Albums to see what a blast everyone had!

For the more active our Come & Try Sport events at Burwood, Waurn Ponds and Warrnambool were a chance to try a range of different sports including ultimate frisbee, pickleball, volleyball, futsal, AFL, dance, netball and cricket. Students at Burwood were also treated to a Basketball Showcase where our Deakin Dragons took on Monash University in an afternoon of impressive ball skills, free food, DJ tunes and good times.

Our online events were well attended across the two weeks with General Trivia, Come & Try eSports, Speed Friending, Games & Chat, and a Mature Age Mix & Mingle. Sometimes location and circumstance mean it’s hard to join in-person, so these events are a great chance to meet other students and build connections from any location.

It’s been fantastic to get to know so many over you over the past two weeks and we hope you’ve been able to make new connections and memories that will last a lifetime! A huge thanks to our DUSA Crew volunteers, clubs, partners, and everyone who helped make T1 OFest 2026 a big success.
