T3 Orientation 2025 recap

Welcome to Trimester 3! Over the past couple of weeks, DUSA has been hosting a range of online and in-person events to welcome Deakin’s newest students and catch up with familiar faces.

On Friday 24 October we kicked things off with an online Get to Know DUSA session – a chance to learn more about what DUSA does and to meet some of our student representatives. On Monday 27 October we hosted an in-person Welcome Event at Burwood with free tacos, games, activities and stalls from DUSA clubs and Deakin services.

For the more active, our Come & Try Sport sessions were a chance for students to try tapeball cricket at Waurn Ponds, as well as pickleball and AFL nines at Burwood. For those students wanting a mind workout instead of a physical one, our Online Trivia Session was a chance to have some fun, meet other students and be in the running for cash prizes!

The fun has continued into Week 1 with FREE FOOD for our DUSA members at Burwood and Geelong. Burwood students were able to indulge their sweet tooth with delicious free donuts, while at Waurn Ponds free sliders were on the menu along with other goodies, activities and entertainment.

Thanks to everyone who has joined the fun over the past couple of weeks and as always – a big shout out to the student volunteers, clubs, partners and everyone who helped bring these events to life.
