Deakin Commerce Society (DCS) | Annual Networking Evening 2025

The Annual Networking Evening brought together over 150 students and representatives from more than 20 industry partners in a meaningful and high-impact setting. Catering to students across finance, accounting, marketing, law, and property disciplines, the event offered something for everyone in the business faculty.

The event truly embodied the theme “Your network is your net worth” fostering confidence, opportunity, and community among the next generation of business leaders. The Annual Networking Evening is testament to the hard work and vision of its organising committees and a reflection of the growing momentum behind student-led professional development at Deakin.

Nursing, Occupational Health, Medicine and Allied Health at Deakin (NOMAD) & Emergency Medicine at Deakin (EMD) | Rural Emergencies Camp

The 2025 Rural Emergencies Camp run by NOMAD and EMD was once again a huge success. This year’s camp was held at the Grampians Retreat and attended by 38 Deakin medical students from placement sites across Victoria. The camp continues to grow each year, thanks to incredible support from the Rural Training Hub Warrnambool and the Victorian Rural Generalist Program.

Key highlights from the weekend were:

  • hands-on simulation stations run by senior rural doctors specialising in anaesthetics, emergency, GP, and rural medicine
  • peer-led simulation stations delivered by clinically trained student
  • search & rescue and casualty extraction exercises with local SES Dunkeld volunteers
  • an Indigenous immersion "paint and yarn" session hosted by Yeerra Ngitj
  • a sunrise hike up The Piccaninny
  • plenty of fun and socialising with a trivia night, bonfire night, flying fox, and amazing food.

The Rural Emergencies Camp is a hands-on, student-driven camp that gets medical students out of labs/lecture theatres and equips them with the skills, confidence, and connections to explore future careers in rural and emergency medicine.

DUSA has over 100 clubs across all campuses. It’s a great way to get involved in student life and meet people who share the same interests as you. You can learn more about DUSA clubs HERE.

Thanks to Optus – proud sponsor of the DUSA Club Event of The Month.
