Congratulations to BuildHub Deakin from Geelong for their Built Environment Industry Connect (BEIC) 2026 event, and to Deakin University Biomedical Society (DUBS) from Burwood for Whispers of the Ton (Health Ball 2026). Read on below to learn more about both events.

BuildHub Deakin | Built Environment Industry Connect (BEIC) 2026

The Built Environment Industry Connect (BEIC) 2026 successfully connected 73 students with representatives from 15 industry organizations through an innovative, highly interactive event that bridged academic learning with real-world industry experience.

Moving beyond a traditional careers fair, the program featured fast-paced two-minute "Lightning Introductions", a collaborative Future Precinct Challenge where students solved real-world problems for industry judges, and a professionally facilitated networking session with a formal high tea and sponsored awards.

Supported by seamless logistics, including coordinated transport from multiple campuses to Deakin Downtown in Melbourne, the event set a new benchmark for student-industry engagement, providing valuable professional development and meaningful networking opportunities.

Deakin University Biomedical Society | Whispers of the Ton (Health Ball 2026)

The Deakin University Health Ball 2026 brought together 160 students for a memorable social event that fostered community and connection ahead of the exam period.

The evening provided students from across different health disciplines with an opportunity to relax, build new friendships and strengthen existing connections in a vibrant atmosphere, with a packed dance floor, popular Best Dressed Awards, and highly positive feedback on the food, drinks and overall experience.

The event successfully promoted student wellbeing and created lasting memories while strengthening the sense of community within the Faculty of Health.
