Deakin Competitive Robotics | Australian Rover Challenge 2026
The event marked Deakin’s second entry into the Australian Rover Challenge with a team of 14 members travelling to Adelade to compete.
In the lead-up to the competition, the team dedicated significant time to designing, building, and refining the Borealis rover. At this event, the club overcame challenges, worked together and were able to execute what they had planned.
The Australian Rover Challenge 2026 highlighted the team’s strong culture and collaboration, with the group engaging with other teams, sharing experiences, and contributing positively to the broader competition environment. This was formally recognised with the Best Team Culture Award.

Deakin International Students Association, Deakin Indonesian Association, Deakin Tamil Students Association, Deakin Cambodian Club and the Japanese-Australian Social Society | Taste & Traditions
The event brought together more than 50 students and marked the first time an initiative of this kind has been delivered.
The program enabled each cultural club to present an overview of their culture and traditions, alongside sharing traditional snacks and food. Clubs also facilitated traditional games and interactive activities to engage attendees.
Feedback from the event was very positive, and the clubs are planning to run another session in Trimester Two.
DUSA has over 100 clubs across all campuses. It’s a great way to get involved in student life and meet people who share the same interests as you. You can learn more about DUSA clubs HERE.
