Financial Hardship Laptop Application

From a Deakin University Community Grant, DUSA has a small number of low-spec laptops to provide to students experiencing financial hardship and are unable to purchase a laptop to undertake the requirements of their course.

From a Deakin University Community Grant, DUSA has a small number of low-spec laptops to provide to students experiencing financial hardship and are unable to purchase a laptop to undertake the requirements of their course.

  • DUSA understands that the technology required to do your course can be expensive and is likely impacting upon your ability to complete your assessments.
  • To be eligible for a laptop, you must be Deakin University student enrolled in an award course and be able to demonstrate financial hardship.
  • In applying for a laptop, please complete the below laptop budget form and application form. Details on how to submit your application are included in the application form.
  • In assessing your application, you will be required to meet with the DUSA Financial Counsellor who will ask you questions related to your budget and verify your financial situation.
  • As DUSA has a limited number laptops on offer, students deemed to have the greatest need and who have clearly demonstrated financial hardship provided with a laptop.
  • If your application is successful, you will be required to complete a short questionnaire 1 month after receiving the laptop and provide consent for your responses to be provided to the Deakin University Community Bank to be used for promotion and reporting purposes.
  • Please note: The Laptops available may not possess the required technical specification required for your course, we strongly recommend you review the laptop specifications (outlined in the application form below) prior to applying.
