The Financial Hardship Laptop Application Program has been created in agreement between the Delivery Manager (eSolutions), the Faculty of Science Engineering and Built Environment (SEBE) Transition and Engagement Team (TET) and the Financial Counsellor (Deakin University Student Association) for the ongoing provision of laptops to students in financial distress.
To be eligible for a laptop, you must be a Deakin University student enrolled in an award course, and be able to demonstrate financial hardship. In applying for a laptop, please complete the below application form and submit with your supporting documentation. In assessing your application, you will be required to meet with the DUSA Financial Counsellor who will ask you questions related to your budget and verify your financial situation. As we have a limited number laptops on offer, students deemed to have the greatest need and who have clearly demonstrated financial hardship will be provided with laptop.
If you application is successful, students will be required to complete a short questionnaire 1 month after receipt of the laptop and providing consent for their responses to be provided to eSolutions and the Faculty of SEBE Transition and Engagement Team to be used for promotion and reporting purposes.
Please note, the Laptops available may not possess the required technical specification required for your course, we will do our best to ensure that the laptop specifications are appropriate to your needs.
