We are pleased to announce the Club Events of the Month for September!
Congratulations to Deakin Teddy Bear Hospital & Deakin Nursing Students' Society from Geelong for their Health Carnival, and to Deakin Bangladeshi Club from Burwood for their Mock Holud. Read on below to learn more about both events.

Deakin Teddy Bear Hospital & Deakin Nursing Students' Society | Health Carnival
This fantastic fundraising event was in support of the Barwon Health Foundation and brought together approximately 40 student volunteers who generously gave their time to deliver a range of activities, including the Teddy Bear Hospital, face painting, temporary tattoos, henna, arts and crafts, a photo booth and carnival games.
Open to the wider community, the event provided an opportunity to engage with local families and paediatric patients of Barwon Health, while raising awareness and funds for an important cause. Thanks to the dedication of the organisers and volunteers, the event raised over $400 for the Barwon Health Foundation, with hopes of making it an annual initiative.
A wonderful example of the positive impact student clubs can have in the community

Deakin Bangladeshi Club | Mock Holud
This vibrant celebration of Bangladeshi culture and traditions brought together more than 180 students from across Melbourne at Kensington Town Hall, creating a welcoming space for cultural exchange and community connection. Guests arrived in traditional cultural dress to enjoy an evening featuring authentic wedding decorations, a mock bride and groom entrance, music, cultural performances and a banquet-style dinner showcasing traditional Bangladeshi cuisine. More than 25 performers dedicated weeks to rehearsing for the occasion, helping bring the excitement and traditions of a Bengali wedding celebration to life.
Mock Holud demonstrated the important role student clubs play in celebrating cultural diversity and fostering belonging. By sharing meaningful traditions and welcoming students from a range of backgrounds, the club created an opportunity for students to connect, experience a different culture and build friendships within the wider student community.
A memorable celebration of culture, inclusion and community, made possible by DBC and everyone involved.
